Search phrase analysis can provide reliable indicators of a drug’s increase or decrease in popularity, specific terms used in online queries, as well as a host of other information.

This progressive tool can also be used to investigate additional addictive substances that sometimes fall under the radar of conventional research. Although many of the drugs in this category may not be physically addictive, their use and abuse can elicit adverse side effects and withdrawal symptoms.

Expanded Drug & Alcohol Addictions Research

The substances listed in Graph 1 below are not ones you might typically associate with drug and alcohol addictions research. The four most popular searches recorded over a one-year period involve queries for erectile dysfunction drugs. Clearly, something is going on.

Beginning with the phrase “Levitra Viagra” and ending with the phrase “Levitra Cialis Viagra”, the 13 phrases related to erectile dysfunction drugs total an astonishing 15,982,863 searches. This may seem surprising until you learn that total worldwide sales in 2006 for Viagra, Cialis and Levitra totaled $2.7 billion.
