Depressants are a family of substances that diminish the function or activity of a specific part of the body. The abuse of barbiturates or benzodiazepines can lead to depressants addictions. Anti-depressant Drugs – List Continues to Grow

There are at least eight types of anti-depressants drugs. The searches for anti-depressant drugs, however, far outnumber those for depressant drugs, as evidenced by the difference in query numbers for the first phrase, “anti-depressants” at 92,153 queries and the third phrase, “depressant drugs” at only 35,495 over a one-year period.
