The following search frequency study quantifies and ranks queries for “dui defense” and related phrases. Addictions researchers use this information to help keep current with trends and developments in alcoholism and drug addiction rates.

Florida DUI Lawyer – Sunshine State Leads the Way

Out of the many geographic searches in Graph 1 below, there are several prominent Florida references, including “florida dui”, “florida drunk driving” and “florida dui lawyer”. This is somewhat surprising considering that while Florida is beginning to toughen its Drunk Driving Laws, dui arrest rates fall well short of Florida’s large state counterparts. According to FBI statistics, in 2004, Florida’s DUI arrest rate was third in the country with 55,805 arrests; this compared to the leaders, California with 177,405 and Texas with 96,921.

Drunk Driving Attorney – Becoming its Own Specialty

Graph 3 yields similar results. There are an overwhelming number of geographic searches with most looking for a drunk driving attorney in a particular state. Florida searches are still prevalent, with Massachusetts, California and Arizona also featured.

Interestingly enough, because there is such a need for DUI defense lawyers, a National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) was established in Montgomery, Alabama. Furthermore, in 2003, the America Bar Association recognized DUI defense law as its own speciality.
