Escorts – Online Searches Number in the Hundreds of Thousands

The number of independent escorts and escort agencies advertising online is growing exponentially. Regardless of prostitution laws, escort agencies continue to operate worldwide, sometimes under the guise of providing social companionship. Searches for escorts range from very general searches to extremely specific gender or ethnic preferences, as well as geographic references.

The following study examines online searches for “escorts” and related phrases over a one-year period. The searches are quantified and ranked into easily discernable bar graphs. The results of this study are reflective of not only the popularity of this service, but also the role the Internet plays in the expansion of this industry.

Gay Male Escorts – Specific Searches Dominate Graphs

In both Graphs 1 and 3, many “escort” searches are specific in nature, as evidenced by searches for “gay male escorts” (49,014) and others. After a general “escort services” search (174,403), the most popular inquires are for “female escorts” (163,015) and “male escorts” (156,734). Interestingly enough, “female” searches only outnumber “male” searches by 6,281. Given that recent statistics show that as many as 70% of all escorts are female, the small difference in search numbers is surprising.

Other very specific searches include those requesting specific ethnicities, such as “asian”, “indian”, “black” and “thai”, as well as other preferences including “blond escorts”, “transsexual escorts” and “mature escorts”.

Other geographic favourites with relatively low population but a significant number of searches include Kansas City, Omaha, and Atlanta, as well as Calgary and Montreal, Canada. Popular international locations are London, Ireland and Russia.
